2Having fun with your high school chemistry exam. Hilarious. Jen says that some of her students have turned in exams like this; she’s not altogether sure whether they were serious or not, though. Via MetaFilter.

This is both extremely funny and scary. In some ways, I wish my students would have handed in exams like this (in French, mind you). I would have had a ball.
Though I’ve had the opportunity to read funny things written by my students, for example: “my grandmother stays in an audio tape” (ma grand-mère reste dans une cassette - the student meant to say “my grandmother rests in a casket), or “the glossary is stuck on the butt” (le glossaire est au derrière - what the student meant was, the glossary is at the back).

My own chemistry teacher back in high school was not amused when I slowly sank my hand in a bowl of smoking dry ice and yelled “I’m melting, I’m melting, AIEEE!”
